Area Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty vehicles have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's town of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Automobiles, walls and postal boxes were defaced, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they stated in a release.
Police report they were alerted during the night on Wednesday night, when a man discovered that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish liquid.
The substance had been placed in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they stated.
Law enforcement then located numerous other marked vehicles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under regulations banning the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Officials say initial examinations suggest the fluid was likely human blood.
"At present there remains no lead as to its source; authorities are currently not cognizant of any harm in relation with the incident," they added.
City officials stated they were attempting "to resolve the case" and have requested to the residents for details.
A senior political figure commented the vandalism rendered him without words and had to be solved rapidly.
"This event hits the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the far-right terrorist attack five years ago," he stated on online, referring to the death of nine victims by a assailant aiming at individuals of migrant background in five years prior.
